The first ballroom dance social event of the season is the perfect time to give ballroom dancing a try! If you’re new to dancing altogether, or you’ve been dancing but weren’t sure you were ready to join a social, this is for you! The lesson is for beginners (or anyone wanting to brush up on their basics), and there will be a brief overview of the general rules and expectations for ballroom social events. Don’t worry, they aren’t hard to understand, and I’m happy to answer questions about them beforehand or during the open dancing.

$10 for the lesson, $10 for the open dancing.

No partner or experience needed!

Dancers of all levels welcome- half the fun of socials is seeing what kind of dancers we can grow into as we get better!

The stage is set and ready for the members of the Songwriters Workshop. This group of local musicians who meet regularly to develop their songwriting skills will be sharing their music of all different styles for the evening. There will definitely be something for everyone! Come hear what they’ve been working on.

As always, the concert is by donation and refreshments will be served downstairs in the cafe.

Join us every Wednesday for an afternoon devoted to kids! Our resident sculptor Anne Bradbury will have fun, interesting & creative crafts for kids of all ages to create. In addition we will have people from Our Community talking about their careers in a series we are calling What Do You Want To Be When You Grow Up?

All events are by donation and snacks will be served!

Our Second Ballroom Dance is next Saturday, June 24th, 7-9:00pm, Elizabeth Converse will be hosting. If you’ve never danced and want to learn, he will be teaching a group class at 6:00. If you’ve been looking for a place to dance locally this will be a fun opportunity.

As always, refreshments will be served downstairs in the cafe.

Join us for a song circle in the cafe. Share your music with others and enjoy some refreshments.

Join us as Gary Polhemus shares an evening of his original music. Gary has been playing music all his life and has experimented with all the styles out there. A talented and creative musician you will hear influences of Jazz, Blues, Classical and good old Rock & Roll. His music tells stories and keeps you engaged. He will be joined on stage by friends for some of his songs keeping the evening fun & interesting.

Local favorite Michael Stackhouse brings his special blend of original music and covers to the stage for a lively evening of music. Come hear uncommon covers, originals, and old favorites. The new CD Pushin’ on the Pull Door is being recorded now! Hear new songs from it.

The Guys – a play by Anne Nelson commemorates the fire fighters who lost their lives in the 9/11 bombings. A sober topic indeed, but a memory that should be honored. All donations from this event will be given to the Waterford Fire Department.

Elizabeth Roth & John Phillips will present the second annual reading of this play. A reception will follow the reading.

The event is free, donations are appreciated.
