SUMMARY:Ballroom Dance Social
DESCRIPTION:The first ballroom dance social event of the season is the perfect time to give ballroom dancing a try! If you’re new to dancing altogether\, or you’ve been dancing but weren’t sure you were ready to join a social\, this is for you! The lesson is for beginners (or anyone wanting to brush up on their basics)\, and there will be a brief overview of the general rules and expectations for ballroom social events. Don’t worry\, they aren’t hard to understand\, and I’m happy to answer questions about them beforehand or during the open dancing. \n$10 for the lesson\, $10 for the open dancing. \nNo partner or experience needed! \nDancers of all levels welcome- half the fun of socials is seeing what kind of dancers we can grow into as we get better!

SUMMARY:Who Are The Ghosts?
DESCRIPTION:Join us on the Summer Solstice for this very special event where we attempt to meet the ghosts who are the residents of the building.  The evening will begin with Donna Girard opening the building and greeting the spirits while placing protective bans against bad influences entering during this delicate time.  Pia Louise Capaldi\, well known medium\, will then reach out to the spirits asking them to identify themselves and to see if there is anything they would like to share.  Donna will finish the evening by closing the building\, ensuring that the circle is complete. \nThis will be a unique experience.  We feel fortunate to have the skills of respected\, knowledgeable people to take us on this journey.  We have already had great interest in this event so make sure to let us know you’re coming through email or on FB page.  This is not one to be missed! \nAs always\, a reception will follow in the cafe. \nPia Louise Capaldi became aware of her intuitive gifts at a young age.  She devoted much of her time listening to the language of the natural world.  Pia’s spiritual practice is inspired by her study of the Andean (Q’ero) tradition of Shamanic Energy Medicine\, her extensive knowledge of animal medicine & her gift of clairvoyance.  Pia incorporates within her healing practice her own original expression of Shamanic Embodiment helping others cultivate a healthy\, safe inner awareness & personal practice rooted directly in the heart & inspired by the 5 senses.    \nDonna Girard is an Artist & practicing Pagan living in the valley of the mountains of Western Maine.  She has transformed her land into sacred spaces including a Mandala Garden\, a Meditation Labyrinth & a Ritual Forest Grove.  Donna facilitates a form of intuitive art called Soul Collage & has published a hybrid oracle deck using this art-form linking spirit & vision.

SUMMARY:Dan Moore on the Bösendorfer
DESCRIPTION:Dan A. Moore will be performing the first concert on our Bösendorfer piano of primarily classical music.  Dan is well known as he has been performing in the area for many years.  He studied organ & harpsichord at the Boston Conservatory where he earned his Bachelor of Music.  His credits include playing with the Royal International Shrine Circus Band\, the Coral Art Society in Portland\, ME\, the Provincetown Jug & Marching band and the Underachievers.  He was part of the house orchestra for many years at the Mt. Washington Hotel.  Dan will be returning later this summer with the members his jazz band to perform a second concert showcasing the range of his talent and this amazing instrument.   \nBösendorfer pianos are very fine and highly sought instruments. Each one is hand\nmade and unique with an individual sound. Many have extra keys at the request of Franz Lizst\,\nwho wanted to arrange organ music for the piano\, and needed additional range. Based on the\nserial number we found on our instrument it was built in approximately 1850\, and is\ncontemporary to our building.  To my knowledge there are only a handful of them\, at most\, in New England.\nTwo of the few I know of are privately owned and not available to be heard by the public. \nPlease join us for this very special evening of music.   \nReception following
